Pre-employment functional assessments

It is also important to ensure that the candidate understands and can demonstrate safe manual handling techniques/ safe work practice is critical for their safety.

Training
Catalyst Injury Management has appropriately qualified Assessors and Trainers and can build tailored training programs to meet the needs of the client. This training may include:
Work fitness programs
At Catalyst Injury Management, we are interested in avoiding workplace injury and sometimes it is simply a process of educating employees about stretching, appropriate exercise and fitness that can lead to a reduction in injury. There is sufficient evidence to suggest that these programs, if designed well, can increase productivity and reduce absenteeism.
Clinical Physical Assessment
A well timed clinical assessment can make all the difference and stop a niggle from turning into a debilitating condition. We have assisted hundreds of employees in the management of early clinical conditions and stopped the need for a workers compensation claim. They key is early intervention!
Treatment of injury at the centre or workplace
Catalyst Injury Management offer workplace based treatment services or we can see people in our Injury Management Centre based on the south side of Brisbane. We also have satellite offices and links throughout Queensland for those companies that are regional. Our treatment services are outcome focused and mean that employees do not lose time off work and can usually continue in the same job whilst they are being treated.
Stretching and Flexibility programs
In some industries, the work is repetitive and arduous and when a person uses the same muscles over and over again, they have a tendency to tighten and become painful. With a well planned and implemented program targeting the right muscles, there can be a real benefit to this type of program.
Manual Handling Training
The purpose of any training is to give staff an understanding anatomy and physiology as it relates to their work, to give staff an understanding of the risk factors associated with manual handling in their work, to teach them the skills in the safest manual handling techniques possible in their work and to ensure that each individual demonstrates competency in those skills and can apply them in a practical setting. This type of training is provided by qualified Trainers and Assessors.
