Onsite treatment services
CIM Health is the best choice for Early Intervention Programs. We have been running on site treatment programs for over 10years and have a team of highly specialised Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists, all of whom have significant experience in the provision of early intervention services, in a wide range of industries. We have developed our assessments and treatment skills to ensure that the most effective intervention is provided, with our average treatment number being no greater than 3.5 sessions from assessment to recovery.
Some of the excellent reasons for providing an Early Intervention Service on site include:
- Quick and easy access to a known and respected provider
- The context of the intervention is clearly workplace based and has a positive impact on keeping the focus on work and work ability
- There is immediate and effective communication between provider and the supervisor to address problems and identify solutions
- Greater control for the employer on costs and service levels
- Positive influence on employee morale
The benefits particularly of primary health care include:
- Early assessment and treatment of injuries by skilled allied health professionals, leading to a reduction in the severity of an injury and potential workers compensation claim
- Management of the injury “in-house”, leading to a reduction in time lost claims and expensive treatment outside the workplace
- Assured follow up with the injured employee and employer with the option of assessing their place of work where an assessment of their work can be performed and advice tailored to reduce further risk
- Assistance in the development of in house “suitable duties program” to ensure an employee makes a full return to work safely
- Monitoring employees once fully recovered to ensure no further aggravation occurs
Ergonomic Design Services
Under the current WH&S legislation, all parties involved in the design, manufacture and installation of equipment have an obligation to ensure that they do not place anyone at risk of death, injury or illness caused by any workplace, relevant workplace area, work activities, or plant or substances. CIM Health Ergonomists work with designers, manufacturers and employers from the drawing board to installation to ensure compliance with the Workplace Health and Safety legislation and associated Regulations, Codes of Practice specifically addressing the Manual Tasks requirements of the design.
Consideration should be given to using CIM Health services in the following instances:
- Office Installation
- New process lines
- New buildings
- Reception areas
- Manufacturing processes
- Introduction of a new process within a business that changes the physical requirements of the role
Measurement of Human Capacity
Understanding how employees work and looking at ways to measure performance and capacity is essential for any workplace that values its employees. CIM Health can assess and measure a range of demands on human performance. These include: measuring workload using biomechanical, physiological, cognitive postural, psychophysical and epidemiological assessment tools.
We can provide employers with a clear understanding of the physical demands, the mental (or cognitive) demands of work, the postural demands of work and if these exceed human capacity. We can provide recommendations that will improve productivity and reduce workload stress.
Participative Ergonomics
Participative Ergonomics has been used successfully by designers and in safety management systems for many years. The concept refers to a co-operative interchange between “expert” and “non expert” to find satisfactory solutions to a range of issues in the workplace.
The PErforM (Participaive Ergonomics for Manual Tasks) training programme allows employer and employee to work side by side to identify Manual Task Risks in the workplace and collaboratively work on solutions to address the risks. It can also be used to identify positive aspects of work that can be replicated within the workplace.
Fitness for Duty Assessments
From time to time, a medical assessment with clear recommendations about fitness for duty can be of great value to manage the injured or at-risk worker. Using highly skilled Occupational Physicians adds great value to the process. They are able to give clear and unequivocal advice on fitness for work, treatment options and recommendations for reasonable adjustment.
